What should we bring?
Here is a list of essentials you need to bring, and a description of what’s already there
-
We have two blue jugs at the cabin that you can fill. To fill them, drive into Haines Junction, and go to 99 Willow Acres Drive. You can also bring your own water if you like. In winter, we melt snow from the driveway and use it as wash water. in summer, we use rainwater collected in the rain barrels.
-
There are three beds, one queen-sized bed, one tiny bed for a 5-year old, and one double-sized pull-out bed.
We have bedding, but please bring your own. The main bed is queen-sized. If you don’t have bedding to bring, just use ours, wash it, and drop it off at our place. Thank you!
-
Bring the food you want to eat. We usually have a supply of coffee, spices, some canned goods, and morning cereal on the shelves and in the cupboards. Please eat any of our food, you are welcome to it. Be advised that the propane fridge takes as long as 8 hours to really start working.
-
If you have some special coffee preparation you prefer, feel free to bring it. We have a stovetop espresso maker, and coffee filters. We likley have a bit of coffee in the kitchen as well, please feel free to use it.
We have pots, pans, utensils, and all the basics for cooking. There is also a propane fridge and stove. The stove has an oven.

The cabin is heated with a wood stove. In the winter, it can take as long as 8 hours to heat it from -30 to +20 degrees C. However, count on the weather being a few degrees warmer than in Haines Junction most days. In summer, we do get some mosquitos.
